TV Hollywood Contraction Hits Entertainment Executive Jobs: “This Is A Full-Scale Depression”
The latest installment in Deadline’s series Hollywood Contraction examines the impact of the current industrywide cost-cutting trend on entertainment executives, with one pro estimating about 20% of the VP-and-above workforce is out of work — with legal, marketing and development execs being hit hardest. The situation is “bordering on worst-case scenario,” one seasoned TV executive said, and was created by a perfect storm of Covid, strikes and “poor management decisions coming home to roost.”
